Residual Bequest
A residual bequest provides Birds Canada with the remainder, or a portion of your estate that remains, after all debts, taxes, expenses and other bequests have been paid.
“I direct my trustees to give ________ (all or %) of the residue of my estate to Birds Canada to be used for its highest priority needs.”
Specific Bequest
A specific bequest provides Birds Canada with a specific dollar amount.
“I direct my trustees to give $________ (or transfer assets with an equal value) of my estate to Birds Canada to be used for its highest priority needs.”
An asset
You can also help the future of bird conservation by naming Birds Canada as a beneficiary of your retirement funds, life insurance, or by donating securities in your Will. Options include:
- An investment account (RRSP/RRIF/TFSA) naming Birds Canada as the beneficiary
