Celebrating and protecting the birds of Delta, BC

Just south of Vancouver, Delta sits at the doorstep of the Fraser Estuary Important Bird and Biodiversity Area, a major hub for birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway. In collaboration with Birds Canada and other partners, the City has launched the Birds Love Delta campaign to spread awareness about bird conservation in this very special place.

In February, Bird Studies Canada and partners launched a new borrowing program at the Thompson-Nicola Regional Library in Kamloops, BC to put these tools in the hands of more aspiring nature enthusiasts.

On September 9th, Bird Studies Canada will celebrate the start of the 20th season of our British Columbia Coastal Waterbird Survey. This long-term Citizen Science monitoring program involves counting ducks, loons, grebes, gulls, and other waterbirds on the second Sunday of each month throughout the winter.
