Pre-order the Québec Breeding Bird Atlas
We are delighted to announce the launch of the pre-sale of the Second Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Southern Québec! The book will be printed early next year, and will be available in bookstores in April. The pre-sale includes a special promotional offer and will only last until 31 December 2018. If you live in Canada, the book will be mailed to you free of charge, before it appears in bookstores. Once your transaction has been completed, you will receive a card (PDF) that you can print and give to the gift recipient prior to publication. All profits from the sale of the new Atlas will go into the Atlas Fund, which is dedicated to the conservation of birds in Québec.
Bird-Inspired Yarn
For those who enjoy crafts as much as they enjoy birds, bird-themed yarn could be just the thing. At Songbird Yarn and Fibres, you will find playful products in colour combinations inspired by birds from Canada and around the world. The yarn is available in three weights and is dyed using immersion and handpainting techniques. For each skein purchased, $2 goes toward Bird Studies Canada’s research and conservation work.
Certified Bird Friendly Coffee
Giving Bird Friendly coffee is one of the best and easiest ways to contribute to conservation of migratory birds in their wintering grounds! Across several regions of northern South America, over 80% of montane forests have been cleared, and shade coffee plantations represent some of the only suitable remaining winter habitat for Neotropical migrants. Choosing Bird Friendly coffee, supports the market for these beans and maintenance of suitable winter habitats for migrants. Find out which coffees are Bird Friendly and where to get them.
Thank you for your support!
