Marsh Watch — Great Lakes 2026

May 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Virtual Event
EDT

Join the Birds Canada Waterbirds and Wetland team for an 8-week, 5 live webinar, excursion to learn about Wetlands birds and frogs of the Great Lakes.  Learn why wetlands are important, how to identify wetland bird and frogs by site and sound; and how to collect data using the NatureCounts app.  Starting March 25, there will be a free training webinar every other Wednesday. On the alternate weeks you will be encouraged to visit your favourite wetland and use our self-guided activities to build your identification skills. The ultimate goal is to give you the skills to confidently submit a checklist of birds from visits to wetlands of your choosing and, eventually, to garner the confidence to join more skilled programs such as the Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program.
