Aerial Insectivore Field Technician [Ontario]

The Aerial Insectivore Field Technician will report to the Aerial Insectivore Field Biologist and Ontario Projects Biologist, and will assist with all aspects of the program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: capturing and tagging Eastern Whip-poor-wills and Bank Swallows, night-time telemetry and surveys, insect sampling, boat surveys, burrow counts, collecting biological samples, data collection and entry, implementing recovery activities, public outreach, and landowner liaison.

Field Technician – Ontario Piping Plover Program

The Piping Plover Field Technician will report daily to the Ontario Piping Plover Field Coordinator; and will assist with all aspects of the program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; beach surveys, nest monitoring, data collection and entry, implementing recovery activities, public outreach and education on beaches and at special events, volunteer coordination, and public speaking.

Forest Birds at Risk Field Technicians

The Forest Birds at Risk Field Technicians will survey private and public woodlots for forest birds, with a focus on five target species at risk: Cerulean Warbler, Acadian Flycatcher, Louisiana Waterthrush, Prothonotary Warbler, and Red-headed Woodpecker.

Field Technician – Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas Project

The Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas Project is seeking 7 experienced field staff for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas to conduct bird surveys in Northern Ontario beginning in May 2023. Field Technicians for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas will collect field data on the occurrence, breeding behaviour and abundance of birds in the region.
