Exploring the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan

August 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Virtual Event

Located in southwest Saskatchewan, the Southwest Sandhills contain some of the largest sets of active sand dunes in Canada. A diverse community of plant and wildlife species, many of which are considered at risk, call this area home.

Alongside our partners at Nature Saskatchewan and Nature Conservancy Canada, we will take you on a virtual journey to the Southwest Sandhills of Saskatchewan. Learn about the ecological significance of the sandhills, see some of the plants and wildlife that call this area home, and learn about conservation and species monitoring plans that are underway.

Featuring

  • Matthew Braun, Program Director – Saskatchewan Region, Nature Conservancy of Canada
  • Kiel Drake, Director – Prairie Region, Birds Canada
  • Grace Pidborchynski, Habitat Stewardship Coordinator, Nature Saskatchewan
  • Tyler Hammerstedt, Pasture Manager, Southwest Sheep Pasture
