Ruby Schweighardt
Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas Field Biologist
I grew up loving the outdoors and since taking an ornithology course during my 4th year of my undergrad at Trent University, I have been hooked on birds. After completing my undergrad, I worked various contracts across Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, focused on avian research and wildlife conservation. In these positions, I found my passion for research and started a masters project studying terns on a remote island in Nova Scotia. I am now finishing up my master’s degree and have made it back to my home province of Ontario where I’m working as a Field Biologist on the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas. I’m so grateful to be able to contribute to such an incredible project and do it alongside the amazing Atlas team!
