Rebecca Jardine
Motus Atlantic Assistant Coordinator
My love for the outdoors began as a child hiking and camping around Nova Scotia, but it wasn’t until my undergraduate Ornithology course where I fell in love with birds. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on several research projects across the Maritimes which allowed me to dive further into bird conservation and monitoring, in particular getting acquainted with the Motus Wildlife Tracking System. During my Master’s I investigated how increasing summer temperatures might impact Snow Bunting nesting behaviour and physiology on their low-Arctic breeding grounds. I am excited to be joining the Motus team where I will be managing the Motus station array in Atlantic Canada, helping develop more partnerships with station hosts, and deploying new Motus stations across the region.
