Andrea Gress

Special Projects and Ontario Piping Plover Coordinator

At my heart, I’m a plover myself, gravitating to beaches and sunshine even in my time off. After university, I landed an internship in South Africa researching and protecting the White-Fronted Plover. I was hooked. Upon returning to my home province of Saskatchewan, I found summer work with Piping Plovers along the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, and now I coordinate the Ontario Piping Plover Conservation Program. Additionally, I am thrilled to host The Warblers, an award winning podcast, for Birds Canada, where I work with a fantastic team to bring stories of birds and bird conservation to listeners across the country.
