Bird Studies Canada (BSC) is the country’s only non-governmental charitable organization focussed entirely on research, awareness, and conservation of Canada’s wild birds and their habitats.
BSC seeks a project specialist to assist in the delivery of a national boreal conservation initiative. The project’s overarching goal is to promote the protection of boreal forest habitat, boreal birds and other wildlife across Canada. Working in collaboration with conservation partners, the project advances its goals through a multi-faceted work plan which includes: promotion of the establishment of new protected areas; support for the establishment of Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas; support for private land securement; legal and policy protections; and, communications, outreach and engagement efforts relating to boreal forest and bird conservation broadly.

The Boreal Conservation Project Specialist reports to BSC’s Senior Conservation Advisor. The position is offered as a one-year term position, with possibility of extension conditional on funding and positive performance. The position is based at BSC’s headquarters in Port Rowan, Ontario.
