SUMMARY:Conservation Film Night: Saving The Night Caller & The Bird House
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for our Conservation Film Night. November 15 we will be screening Saving the Night Caller\, a hauntingly beautiful conservation documentary that follows wildlife researchers from Birds Canada and University of Waterloo deep into the forests of southwestern Ontario to uncover the mysterious world of the Eastern Whip-poor-will – a nocturnal bird whose call once echoed across the night\, and is now slowly falling silent. \nSecond screening of the night: The Bird House | Wildlife Research On The Edge. Filmed over two field seasons spanning three years\, this nature film tells the story of the impacts of weather\, storms\, and high water at Canada’s most isolated bird banding and research station – in the middle of Lake Erie. The documentary also tells the story of the demise of a historic rustic wood house located at the Tip which once housed the families of lighthouse keepers\, and later biologists and volunteers working at the Tip for the Long Point Bird Observatory. \nDoors open at 6 pm. Cash bar. Free parking. Accessible event. Tickets are $25 at the door or by clicking here: Conservation Film Night: Saving the Night Caller & The Bird House. \nAll proceeds donated to Birds Canada. Thank you for your support.

SUMMARY:JP Riemens Reads!
DESCRIPTION:Join us as local author and musician JP Riemens reads from the Slightly Below the Surface book series.    \nSet locally\, this is the story about a life journey\, spanning over 60 years under the watchful eye of the 250 year old spirit\, Elizabeth Yates. The Boy is born on the hundredth anniversary of her death in 1856. She had been a teacher in the old schoolhouse where he grew up and currently resides. Beginning in rural Ontario in the 1960’s\, the Boy discovers his calling to be a songwriter. While stumbling through his awkward adolescence he learns the value of friendship\, hard work\, rock n’ roll and LSD. \nAnd maybe…just maybe…JP will treat us to a few musical numbers… \nCopies of the book series will be available for purchase. There will be a meet & greet with the author following the reading. Hint: these reads make a great\, screen-free present!
