Salary range: $2880-$3040 per month ($16.62 – $17.54 per hour)

Reporting to the Outreach & Content Specialist, the Digital Content Assistant will have a key role in developing and maintaining Birds Canada’s Digital Asset Management System (DAM). The DAM is an important tool to effectively produce communication products to share science and conservation updates, support stewardship initiatives, and engage new supporters. In addition to assisting with management of the DAM, the Assistant’s role may be expanded to assist with keeping the Birds Canada website content maintained, current, and engaging.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Outreach & Content Specialist to develop and maintain the Digital Asset Management tool and the Birds Canada website.
This will include but is not limited to:
– uploading, reviewing and categorizing digital assets in the Birds Canada DAM
– ensuring content quality, accuracy, and suitability
–creating DAM user manual for Birds Canada staff – providing staff with ongoing support as needed in using the DAM; answering questions and finding solutions
–uploading content to the Birds Canada website; updating existing content as directed by the Outreach & Content Specialist, Director of Communications, and other Public Support staff.
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Outreach & Content Specialist or Director of Communications.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The Digital Content Assistant will have a basic understanding of DAM platforms, WordPress and integrating essential plugins. The position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work as a team player as well as independently. The successful applicant will be self-directed, have strong project and time management skills with high standards of accuracy, organization and quality control with proven ability to collaborate and manage multiple projects within deadlines.

Experience with identifying North American birds and an interest in bird conservation is considered an asset.
