Corporate Relations Manager

Contract type: Full-time position

Location: Remote or National Headquarters
Schedule: 40 hours/week, largely to match Eastern time zone
Salary range: ($60,112 – $65,179)

We are searching for an experienced and amazing Corporate Relations Manager who is a leader in developing strong collaborations, creative marketing campaigns, supporter recognition programs, and achieving fundraising results. The Corporate Relations Manager position reports to our Director of Development and is responsible for developing and maintaining corporate partnerships such as sponsorships, grants, employee engagement opportunities, and marketing collaborations.

Your Primary Activities:

  • Lead major national joint marketing, fundraising, and advocacy initiative(s) in partnership with like-minded company(s).
  • Work with VP of Public Support and Director of Development to execute customized strategies that increase engagement of companies and donors throughout the year.
  • Maintain and grow existing corporate partnerships, in collaboration with fellow Birds Canada staff.
  • Represent the organization at community and networking events
  • Secure new sponsors and partners: identify prospects, research, approaching, and engaging to secure support.
  • Adhere to steps of the fundraising cycle and best practices to move relationships through the process.
  • Field calls from businesses interested in getting involved with Birds Canada and follow-up to secure support.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to set goals and determine organizational needs and priorities.
  • Track all necessary donor data, including contact reports, actions, and proposals in Raisers Edge (RE) database.

The knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Canada’s charitable sector, fundraising best practices, CRA governance
  • Canada’s corporate sector, giving trends, and marketing partnerships
  • Knowledge of corporate social responsibility, sustainability
  • Office Suite and Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM

About you:

  • Enthusiasm for our important work of reaching, inspiring, and mobilizing more people in Canada to participate in the world of birding and conservation.
  • Experience of being in a professional fundraising role, or similar experience in a marketing, sales or business development environment
  • A proven track record of success in managing and achieving set targets
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, data analytics, budget forecasting and digital fundraising tools
  • Demonstrated experience of successful fundraising and public advocacy campaigning
  • Success in competitive pitching
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work independently and to effectively manage and prioritize workload
  • Excellent formal and informal oral communication skills: face-to-face; on the telephone; and during formal presentations
  • Excellent and creative written communication skills, developing compelling ‘cases for support’
  • Exhibit a keen attention to detail; including follow-through and follow-up.
  • Ability to initiate and develop relationships with a variety of people
  • Have drive and passion for community and donor development
  • Confident and professional approach, ability to exercise own judgment and discretion
  • Digital skills in using platforms such as Engaging Networks email marketing, social media and others
