Ontario Bank Swallow Project
Terms and Conditions
Access to the Ontario Bank Swallow Project data entry site is restricted to registered participants of the Ontario Nocturnal Owl Survey for the purpose of submitting and accessing their own survey data. There is no cost to participate in the program. The web site also includes a public portion where the general public will be able to access resources and results from the survey.
For more information on the Ontario Nocturnal Owl Survey, or to find out where you may be able to help, contact us or visit http://www.birdscanada.org/birdmon/onbans/.
Data collected and maps published as part of the Ontario Bank Swallow Project are freely available but they remain the property of Bird Studies Canada and its funding partners and may not be reproduced for publication without the consent of Bird Studies Canada. Data submitted to the Ontario Bank Swallow Project will be reviewed by ornithological experts. The Ontario Bank Swallow Project reserves the right to include or exclude data submitted to the project.
Personal information of participants (including address, email and phone number) will not be shared with third parties, and will only be available to Bird Studies Canada, or other partners designated by BSC that are involved in the project coordination (e.g. regional coordinator), and only for project-related communications.
Unless you indicate otherwise to us in writing, you accept that your name may be included in data summaries, reports or any data product derived from the survey database where appropriate.
As a volunteer participant in the Ontario Bank Swallow Project, you are fully responsible for your own safety, and for your own personal insurance in case of injury. You are not considered an employee of Bird Studies Canada or any of our partners or sponsors. Please exercise great caution and care in the field when collecting data. We are also not responsible for damage incurred to vehicles while conducting surveys.
