This report outlines the 2002 results of the Atlantic Canada Nocturnal Owl Survey. This year marked the second year of surveying in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, and the first year of surveying in mainland Nova Scotia. A number of pilot survey routes were also run in Newfoundland & Labrador. The most common owl species detected was Barred Owl, followed by Northern Saw-whet Owl, Great Horned Owl, and Boreal Owl. This survey would not be possible without the help of hundreds of volunteers; this report is dedicated to them.
